What is Shared Computer Activation (SCA)?

SCA (Microsoft Enabled Shared Computer Activation) means that as an Office 365 Pro-Plus user, you can have your application running on different hardware. The following three scenarios are possible:

on own hardware in own data center (also possible as housing at Timewarp)

as a dedicated hosting application from Timewarp

auf Windows Azure

Benefits of SCA for Office 365, Project and Visio Pro for Office 365

The biggest benefit of SCA for Office 365 ProPlus, Project and Visio Pro for Office 365 is that you get choice and flexibility. With SCA, you can leverage existing Office 365 ProPlus licenses for deployment in the cloud.

You can choose between your own data center or a certified Timewarp data center. This allows you to reduce cloud infrastructure costs by renting cloud servers and using your existing Office 365 ProPlus licenses.

We are a Microsoft approved provider for SCA for Office 365 ProPlus. This allows us to deploy your existing Office 365 ProPlus licenses over your chosen cloud infrastructure.

Which Office versions support Shared Computer Activation?

SCA works with Office 365 ProPlus, Project for Office 365 and Visio Pro for Office are supported. You can use SCA with any Office 365 plan that includes Office 365 ProPlus. For example, Office 365 Enterprise E3 or Enterprise E5.
