Read here how to encrypt your cloud storage. Encrypting data at the server or in cloud storage is important to ensure the security of your data. Without encryption, your data can be intercepted and stolen by hackers or other unauthorised people. Encryption converts your data into an unreadable form that can only be decrypted with a special key. This way you can be sure that only you and authorised persons have access to your data.
For the encryption of your data, we use a hardware security module, HSM for short. Keys can be generated and managed via this. The HSM is accessed via a separate remote PED, to which only you have access. The remote PED is a PIN entry device.
End-to-end encryption is one of the most secure ways to protect your data in the cloud. With this, your data is already encrypted on your device and remains encrypted until it is decrypted on another device. This prevents hackers who gain access to your data from reading or using it. End-to-end encryption is compatible with any end device.
In addition to encryption, it is important to use strong passwords and enable two-factor authentication. Use a unique password for each account that consists of a combination of letters, numbers and special characters. Avoid simple passwords like "123456" or "password". Two-factor authentication provides an extra layer of security by sending a second code or confirmation to your mobile phone before you can log into your account.
We store your data in Austria and the hardware is located in secure, certified data centres. This means you fulfill important criteria of the GDPR. We ourselves are certified according to ISO 27001 and ISO 27018.
