Embed S3 Archive Storage in your Nextcloud

Here you will find a description of how to integrate our S3 Object Storage into Nextcloud:

Set up Namespace

1. A namespace must be created to enable S3 for this customer.

2. Enter your Default Admin Username and Password and make a note of them. You will need the credentials for later setup.

3. After creation you will see all the details of the namespace. You should also note the URL. You will need this for later integration into Nextcloud.

Create Bucket

4. You must create a bucket so that you can save data. Please note the name. You will need it later during setup.

S3 Object Storage in Nextcloud

6. Log into Nextcloud with an admin user and enable the "external storage support" app.

7. You can perform the integration under Administration/External Storage. Bucket = Bucket Name, Hostname = s3.timewarp.at, Port = 443, the Region can be left empty, Folder name is the name of the folder which will be used for display in Nextcloud, Enable SSL must be activated, Enable Path Style as well, Authentication = Access Key, Access Key = the Default Admin User from the namespace installation, Secret Key = the Default Admin Password from the namespace installation. Then select the users or leave it on default (then all users have access to it) and click on the checkmark to execute the installation.

8. Here you can see the new folder. All files placed in this folder are stored in the S3 Storage.

9. Here you can see the Nextcloud browser. You can see from the icon that the S3 Archive folder is included via external storage.

10. Here you can see the upload of two files in the S3 Folder List.

11. Here you can check whether the file upload has really saved the files in the S3 bucket. Here we use S3Browser. A description of the S3 browsers you can find here S3 Browser FAQ Timewarp. The files are here, the test was successful :-).
